Cat Grooming
FAQ's

Do you groom aggressive or very stressed cats?
Cross detail

We do groom cats we describe as quirky; however we don’t groom overly aggressive cats and would always recommend a vet to perform the groom under sedation for safety. Cats often give no warning before reacting and working with very sharp tools we will not purposefully endanger cats in our care. This means that sadly, occasionally we must terminate the groom and advise a veterinary visit to safely complete it.

Cats experience stress more severely than dogs; as such, we continuously monitor your cats stress responses and adapt accordingly. For cats displaying high stress signals we sadly occasionally have to terminate the groom and advise either a second appointment or direct to your vet to groom under sedation in a supportive, emergency equipped medical setting – your cats wellbeing is paramount to us.

How old do kittens need to be for their first groom?
Cross detail

We advise owners to bring their kitten as soon as they are fully inoculated for us to slowly introduce them, even if they don’t need a haircut it is better to start them at approx. 12 weeks of age. Older kittens take longer to adjust and may take more appointments before we can safely trim them.

How often should I have my cat groomed?
Cross detail

This greatly depends upon various factors, we will always provide your optimum grooming schedule and highly recommend pre-booking as we book up fast. Most cats we see in the salon visit us every 4-8 weeks.

How much does a cat groom cost?
Cross detail

We price each individual cat according to their breed, sizing, styling requirement, coat condition and behaviour. As such prices can vastly vary. Cats are more expensive to groom than dogs due to the requirement of 2 qualified and experienced groomers to perform the service to ensure your cats safety, it also carries the need of a higher skill level to competently groom felines We are happy to quote you for your cats’ appointment.

Do I leave my cat with you?
Cross detail

Yes, you drop off your cat in a safe and secure pet carrier at their appointment time and we will perform a consultation with you, here you will be given an approximate time frame. However, we will text or call you 10 mins before your pet is ready to be collected.

How long does a cat groom take?
Cross detail

Your cats groom duration depends upon several factors, such as their breed, styling requirements and behaviour for example. But as a general rule, the average groom time is 1-2 hours in duration.
