The short answer is yes, it can be. Working with dogs is very rewarding, but it can also be very demanding on your body, mind and mental health. You are working with live animals who fidget, bark, poop and don’t understand English!
You are also working with potentially dangerous tools that require skill to use; all whilst managing clients and running a business. You need to have patience, passion and the drive to propel yourself through challenges and obstacles. Its not a job for everyone, but that’s okay. If you aren’t sure if this is the right career for you, why not come to a taster day first?
This greatly varies between each type of grooming businesses structure, the hours worked, pricing range and more. However, groomers can make a good wage in the right circumstances.
